Pointe Claire moving the ring around

Coco Marier scored four goals as Pointe Claire's Atom B ringette team wasn't challenged en route to an 8-1 victory over Pierrefonds/Dollard Saturday morning at the Pierrefonds arena.
“We passed very well this game and we had a lot of nice shots directed at the net,” said Marier. “We can work on our triangle and our speed a little bit.”
It didn't take long for Pointe Claire to get on the board; just minutes into the game Megan Recio sent a nice pass over to Marier who stickhandled into a good spot before firing the ring home.  Just 40 seconds after the opening goal, Marier was at it again finishing off a passing play with Delphine Gaudet and Recio.
“Obviously we looked really strong, and the other team played hard and they had a few good things too,” said head coach Jean Marier. “It's still early in the year, they have stuff to build up, we've got to firm up on discipline when we get way ahead and we know they'll be a lot of changes over the course of the year.”
From the two goal surge on, there was no looking back for a Pointe Claire team loaded with talent. They controlled ring possession and played keep away from the Pierrefonds/Dollard players for most of the game.
“You got to keep your eyes on the fundamentals and that's what we focused on in the dressing room after the game,” said coach Marier. “The defensive positioning can be better, the girls were up by that they might have lost focus a bit, I think what they need to focus on keep in positioning in the back.”
Recio, Gaudet, Madeleine McTavish and Eva Goblot also scored goals for Pointe Claire.
“Everyone played a really great game even though it's cliché to say that,” said coach Marier. “There was some great passing and communication between the players we were really proud as a coaching staff
Adjustments can still be made to the league to help balance the competitiveness nature among the teams. Pointe Claire remains undefeated after three games with their wins coming in a lopsided fashion.
“The league should even things out I think, we're not sure if this is final team lineups for everyone,” said Marier. “In the past the league has always been good at balancing the field, so this great for the time being but we are aware that things could change a bit.”
